Netanyahu signals to shift war to Lebanon

24 June, 2024 10:46

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has said that the phase of the fierce war with Hamas is close to the end, signaling to move the war to the Lebanese border.

Netanyahu, who is ready for a partial deal with Hamas for the release of the hostages, said that despite the cease-fire agreement, he will continue the mission to eliminate the resistant group.

Hamas, in its response to the Israeli Prime Minister’s statement, said that the partial deal means that Netanyahu has rejected the US President’s cease-fire plan. The group has insisted on a complete ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of the occupying forces for any deal.

On the other hand, Israeli army’s bombardment continues in the residential areas of Gaza in which 15 more Palestinians including women and children were martyred. Israeli planes also targeted the center of the United Nations aid agency, in which 8 displaced Palestinians who took shelter in the aid center were martyred. More than 50 Palestinians were martyred in the last 24 hours.

Since October 7, the number of Palestinian martyrs has reached 37,600, while more than 86,000 Palestinians are injured.

Hamas targeted Israeli soldiers and vehicles in Rafah, while Hezbollah from southern Lebanon launched a drone attack on Israeli military headquarters in northern Israel, seriously injuring an Israeli soldier.
