Netflix announces new ‘Carmen Sandiego’ game for multiple platforms

Netflix is set to launch a new video game titled “Carmen Sandiego” in early 2025, exclusively on its streaming platform.

The animated game, developed by Gameloft and HarperCollins Productions, will allow players to take on the role of the infamous thief for the first time.

Based on the classic 1985 game “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?”, the new title promises a modernized experience, with players navigating a world of espionage and capturing VILE (Villains’ International League of Evil). The game will feature story-driven campaigns, classic modes, and a single-player adventure with no in-game purchases or online play.

According to Gameloft, players will experience the thrill of being Carmen Sandiego, making decisions that shape the outcome of the game. The title will be available on Netflix’s mobile app for iOS and Android users, with subsequent releases on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam.

The “Carmen Sandiego” franchise has captivated fans since the 1980s, with Netflix previously developing an Emmy and Annie award-winning animated series.
