New WhatsApp feature set to tackle media quality issue

20 June, 2024 16:37

For years, WhatsApp users have face challenges with the quality of the photos and videos. Even though it introduced the HD feature. But now it is all about to end once in for all with new WhatsApp feature.

The company has introduced the new feature which enables user to send photos with high-definition (HD) as the default quality of media, 9to5Mac reported.

The move will help users to avoid manually select the HD button while sharing their media.

Both iOS and Android users can now set HD as the default quality for sending high-resolution media on the instant messaging app.

They can find the option under the “Storage and Data” menu in WhatsApp’s settings.

Currently, WhatsApp reduced photos taken with an iPhone to 960×1280 pixels, HD keeps the image at its original resolution of 3024×4032 pixels.

The images are still compressed even with the HD option turned on, but the result is much less aggressive than previously observed.
