Op. True Promise II: Hamas praises ‘heroic’ Iran attack on Israel

Hamas has lauded Iran’s missile attack on Israel, saying it was in revenge for the killings of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah.

A statement issued by the group  said: “The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) blesses the heroic rocket launches carried out by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran against wide areas of our occupied lands.”

It added that it was in revenge for the blood of our heroic martyrs.

Earlier, Iran fired a salvo of ballistic missiles at Israel on Tuesday in retaliation for Israel’s strikes in Lebanon.

Alarms sounded across Israel and explosions could be heard in Jerusalem and the Jordan River valley after Israelis piled into bomb shelters.

Reporters on state television lay flat on the ground during live broadcasts.

Reuters journalists saw missiles intercepted in the airspace of neighbouring Jordan. As many as 200 missiles had been launched.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said on Tuesday they launched tens of missiles toward Israel and warned that if Israel retaliated Tehran’s response would be “more crushing and ruinous”, Iranian state TV reported.

US President Joe Biden said Washington is prepared to help Israel defend itself from the missile attacks launched by Iran and to protect the US military in the region.
