29 August, 2024 18:31

The second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh is set to commence on August 30 in Rawalpindi.

Bangladesh leads the two-match series 1-0 after registering their first-ever Test victory over Pakistan with a 10-wicket win.

However, weather conditions on the first day of second Test might play a significant role in the proceedings.

According to AccuWeather, temperatures are expected to be around 27°C, though it will feel closer to 30°C due to high humidity.

Overcast skies, extensive cloud cover, and a significant chance of a drenching thunderstorm are anticipated.

Winds will blow from the northeast at 11 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 32 km/h. Rainfall could reach 25.4 mm, with humidity levels at 79%, potentially reducing visibility to 4 km.

The weather could disrupt play, as there is an 80% chance of precipitation throughout the day.

Separately today, Pakistan unveiled its twelve-member squad for the second Test against Bangladesh, which will be played in Rawalpindi from August 30.

The side led by Shan Masood will be without the services of Shaheen Shah Afridi, who became father for the first time last week.

The squad features the return of Abrar Ahmed and Mir Hamza.

The visitors secured a historic victory in the series opener, winning by 10 wickets and taking a 1-0 lead.

“Abrar Ahmed was included in the 12-member squad based on our assessment of the conditions. We have yet to see the pitch; we’ll evaluate the conditions tomorrow morning,” Gillespie explained.
