Pakistan does not need foreign advice on polls: FO

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has said that the election process is an internal matter of Pakistan and there is no need for foreign advice on it.

The spokesperson while briefing the media said that foreign observers were also invited in the general elections. We welcomed foreign observers and Commonwealth observers and Pakistan had fulfilled its constitutional duty seriously.

She said that the election process in Pakistan is an internal matter of the country and there is no need for foreign advice regarding the polls.

In response to a question, the spokesperson of the Foreign Office said that Pakistanis have the right to talk about the political process of the country and we will not comment on it.

She further said that we strongly condemn the Israeli aggression in Rafah city. The OIC has also warned against the Israeli aggression and Pakistan demands to stop the massacre of Palestinians including the implementation of the UN Charter.

The FO spokesperson said that Indian forces had raided the offices of Jamaat-e-Islami in Occupied Kashmir on February 10. We strongly condemned the raids on the offices of Jamaat-e-Islami of Occupied Kashmir, she added.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that Pakistan has reservations about the rise of terrorist elements in the region. Pakistan has asked the Afghan administration to take action against terrorist groups active against Islamabad. We are concerned about the safe shelters of terrorists in Afghanistan.

The spokesperson also informed during his media briefing that diplomatic relations have been established between Pakistan and the Republic of Dominica.
