Pakistan hammer China to book semifinal berth

Pakistan continue to shine in the ongoing Asian Hockey Championship as they registered a convincing 5-1 victory over China on Thursday.

The Green Shirts, who have been undefeated in the tournament, captured the second spot at points table, behind arch-rival India.

Abdul Rehman opened the scoring for Pakistan in the 23rd minute of the game. Ahmed Nadded doubled the lead in the 36th minute.

In the 46th minute Hannan Shahid made a brilliant run to score the third goal for Pakistan, before Gao Jiesheng scored one back for China to make the score-line 3-1 in the 48th minute.

However, Nadeem in the 56th minute stuck again for his second goal of the game, while Shahid completed his brace in the final minute to make the score line 5-1.

Pakistan will now face India, who have already booked their spot in the semifinal.
