Pakistan hammer China to book semifinal berth

Pakistan continue to shine in the ongoing Asian Hockey Championship as they registered a convincing 5-1 victory over China on Thursday.

The Green Shirts, who have been undefeated in the tournament, captured the second spot at points table, behind arch-rival India.

Abdul Rehman opened the scoring for Pakistan in the 23^rd minute of the game. Ahmed Nadded doubled the lead in the 36^th minute.

In the 46^th minute Hannan Shahid made a brilliant run to score the third goal for Pakistan, before Gao Jiesheng scored one back for China to make the score-line 3-1 in the 48^th minute.

However, Nadeem in the 56^th minute stuck again for his second goal of the game, while Shahid completed his brace in the final minute to make the score line 5-1.

Pakistan will now face India, who have already booked their spot in the semifinal.
