Pakistan marks Int’l Women Day in a different way

The International Women’s Day is being celebrated all over the world today and in connection ceremonies are also being held Pakistan.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated a plantation drive by planting a sapling to mark International Women’s Day in Sheikhupura.

Maryam Nawaz visited Dargai Gul Forest Park along with the senior minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.

Both the chief minister and senior minister planted saplings to start the plantation drive.

Women are standing side by side with men from fields to modern science and technology. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, rallies, walks, seminars and events will be organized across the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that today is the day to acknowledge the achievements of women in every field, providing equal rights to women will be the priority of the government.

It should be noted that International Women’s Day was first celebrated by the United Nations in 1975 on the occasion of International Women’s Year.
