Pakistan Stock Exchange 100-index crosses 56,000 milestone

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a strong rally on the first day of the business week, with the index hitting an all-time high.

The KSE 100 index hit an all-time high in early trade on Monday. 100 index rose by 520 points to touch 55900 level in the early hours.

Later, the market shares continued to trend higher, with the PSX gaining a record total of 708 points and the 100 index crossing the 56,000-point level for the first time in history. In Pakistan Stock Exchange, the index has reached the highest level of 56100 points.

Meanwhile, the dollar fell by 53 paise to Rs 286.50 in the interbank market on Monday.
