Pakistan to receive above normal monsoon rains
More than normal monsoon rains are likely in most parts of the country from June to August this year.
According to the Department of Meteorology, more than normal rains are likely in central and northern Punjab, while in southern Sindh there may be above normal rainfall. It added there is a risk of flooding in rivers and urban flooding in cities.
The Met Office further predicted that more than normal rains are also expected in Balochistan this year. Due to high temperature, the snow melting process will be faster in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The weather department continued there is a possibility of heavy rains in the first phase of monsoon compared to the second phase.
