Pakistan-US relations on way to improvement: Donald Blome

US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome has said that Pakistan-US relations are improving.

Addressing the US Independence Day ceremony in Islamabad, he said that sometimes both countries had faced great difficulties, but our partnership has always been a key part of the long journey towards increasing our national prosperity and security.

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesori among other important personalities also attended the event.

The guest of honor, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said in his address that Pakistan and America have deep and historical relations and we have a lot to learn from this country. We need its friendship in various fields, he added.

He said that the love of the people of both the countries for cricket provides new opportunities for closeness between them.

On this occasion, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori said that the time has come for both countries to come closer to each other in the wider interest of the region.

The governor further said that he wants more increase in trade and investment from America.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden has stressed that the enduring partnership between the United States and Pakistan was important to ensure the security of our people and those living around the world.

“The enduring partnership between our nations remains critical to ensuring the security of our people — and people around the world —and the United States will continue to stand with Pakistan to tackle the most pressing global and regional challenges of our time,” reads a letter penned by US President Joe Biden to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to the US Embassy, Biden said that the two nations, through the US-Pakistan Green Alliance framework, would continue strengthening their climate resilience; supporting sustainable agriculture and water management and advancing Pakistan’s recovery from the devastating floods of 2022.

He added that the Washington remains committed to working with Islamabad to protect human rights and promote progress.
