Government to Identify Bomber Behind Islamabad Attack: Mohsin Naqvi

Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that a suicide attack took place in Islamabad’s G-11 sector at 12:39 p.m. on Tuesday. The powerful explosion resulted in 12 deaths and left 27 others injured.

According to the minister, the suicide attacker had planned to enter the court premises but was unable to do so due to tight security. When he failed to gain access, he detonated himself near a police van outside the G-11 Kacheri (court complex).

Minister Naqvi stated that the government’s first priority is to identify the suicide bomber and determine his network. Security forces have cordoned off the area, and an investigation is underway to trace those behind the attack.

He added that emergency services quickly arrived at the scene to shift the injured to nearby hospitals. The minister expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and said that such acts of terrorism will not weaken Pakistan’s resolve against extremists.
