NADRA introduces pilot CNIC reprint & renewal service at e-Sahulat franchises

01 January, 2026 19:44

NADRA has started a pilot project to make CNIC services easier for the public. Under this project, people can now apply for CNIC reprints for lost cards and CNIC renewals through selected e-Sahulat franchises.

e-Sahulat is run by Nadra Technologies Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of NADRA. There are more than 22,000 e-Sahulat franchises across Pakistan. Out of these, over 9,500 have biometric systems, including fingerprint and camera verification, which help confirm a person’s identity.

Most e-Sahulat outlets operate from nearby shops and stores. These centres have already helped people by reducing long queues at banks, especially for paying utility bills. Now, they are also offering different biometric verification services related to CNICs.

NADRA officials said, “This pilot project serves as an additional means of providing CNIC services to those who cannot use the Pak-ID app, whether it’s due to illiteracy, lack of smartphone use, or travelling issues from Nadra registration centres, which are located at a distance.”

The project has been approved by the Authority Board under the NADRA Ordinance 2000 and NADRA Regulations 2002. It has started at 18 e-Sahulat franchises in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi. These centres will provide CNIC services at NADRA’s standard fees, with an additional Rs100 service charge for e-Sahulat.
