Pakistan’s ‘Ghazab lil-Haq’ Operation to Continue Until Afghan Taliban Cease Support for Militants: Security Official

03 March, 2026 00:08

A senior Pakistani security official has stated that the duration of the ongoing “Ghazab lil-Haq” operation will depend on the Afghan Taliban regime’s actions against terrorist groups.

Speaking to the media, the official said: “Afghan Taliban must decide whether they stand with Pakistan or with the terrorist groups.” He emphasized that Pakistan’s military campaign is conditional, tied to verifiable steps taken by the Taliban to curb militant activity.

“The duration of Pakistan’s operation will depend on the Afghan Taliban regime’s actions on the ground against militants,” he added. The official further stressed: “Operation will not end until the Afghan Taliban regime stops facilitating Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan.”

Highlighting the ongoing threat, the official noted that the Afghan Taliban currently patronizes multiple militant groups and must provide Pakistan with verifiable assurances. “We are in no hurry,” he remarked.

The senior official also said that Pakistan is targeting terrorists’ safe havens and their facilitators, describing these operations as legitimate acts of self-defence. “Our dispute is not with the Afghan people,” he clarified.

So far, the operation has destroyed over 180 militant posts and secured control of more than 30 key locations previously used as launch pads for attacks.
