Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called a meeting of parliamentary leaders to assess the rapidly evolving situation in the Gulf region. Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar informed the Senate on Tuesday that the Prime Minister will provide an in-camera briefing to parliamentary leaders on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
The briefing will focus on developments in the Middle East, with particular attention to the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel.
Minister Tarar confirmed that Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political and Public Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has been tasked with reaching out to the parliamentary leaders of all political parties, including opposition leaders from both the Senate and the National Assembly, to ensure their attendance.
Tarar emphasized that this meeting is an essential step in light of recent global and regional developments.
In another significant political move, a delegation from the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday to discuss the country’s political landscape and regional matters. During the meeting, the Prime Minister described the PPPP as a key coalition partner and expressed gratitude for the party’s continued support in critical decisions related to the nation’s development.
The PPP delegation included prominent figures such as Senator Sherry Rehman, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Syed Naveed Qamar, and Aijaz Jakhrani. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal and Azam Nazeer Tarar, as well as Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah.
