Sindh Orders Strict Action Against Vehicles Operating Without Route Permits and Fitness Certificates

23 April, 2026 11:07

Sindh has announced strict action against vehicles operating without valid route permits and fitness certificates, according to Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon.

In Karachi, authorities have decided to take strong enforcement measures against vehicles lacking proper documentation, including valid route permits and updated fitness certificates.

Official directives have been issued to Deputy Commissioners and Chairmen of District Regional Transport Authorities to ensure immediate compliance with regulations.

Sharjeel Memon stated that a large number of vehicles are currently operating with expired route permits and fitness certificates, creating serious regulatory concerns.

He emphasized that all vehicles must operate strictly under the Motor Vehicles Ordinance and must carry valid documentation at all times.

To improve transparency and efficiency, a digital system has been introduced for issuing route permits and fitness certificates. He further confirmed that fitness certificates are now being issued online.

The Sindh government is also providing subsidies to transporters to support compliance with updated regulations and improve the overall transport system in the province.

Authorities have made it clear that enforcement against non-compliant vehicles will be strictly implemented to ensure road safety and proper regulation of public transport.
