PM Shehbaz Meets Gilgit-Baltistan Leadership to Review Development Projects, Law and Order Situation
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held separate meetings on Thursday with Gilgit-Baltistan Governor Syed Mehdi Shah and Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (Retd) Yar Muhammad during his day-long visit to the region, where he is set to inaugurate several development projects.
Upon arrival in Gilgit, the Prime Minister was received by Governor Syed Mehdi Shah and Chief Minister Yar Muhammad. He is accompanied by a delegation of federal ministers, including Ahsan Iqbal, Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Attaullah Tarar, Engineer Amir Muqam, Abdul Aleem Khan, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Advisor to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, and Special Assistant Talha Burki.
During the meetings, discussions focused on ongoing development projects in Gilgit-Baltistan, the current law and order situation, and other administrative matters aimed at improving governance in the region.

The Prime Minister’s visit includes the inauguration of several major initiatives, such as solar power projects, Safe City systems, a laptop distribution scheme, and youth-focused business and agriculture loan programs.
Additionally, Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for four Daanish Schools, aimed at improving access to quality education in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Officials stated that these projects are part of broader efforts to enhance infrastructure, education, energy access, and youth development in the region.
