Security forces kill two militants, including Afghan national in Mohmand operation

Security forces killed two militants, including an Afghan national, during an operation in Mohmand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on June 4, 2026, according to sources on Thursday.

Security officials said the Afghan militant was found carrying an Afghan identity card, foreign currency, modern weapons, and a suicide vest.

They added that the individual was identified under the name “Umar Bilal” and was reportedly a resident of Khost province in Afghanistan.

The operation was carried out as part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts across the country, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Earlier, Pakistan also conducted targeted and precise strikes along the Afghanistan border, focusing on hideouts linked to planners involved in recent terrorist attacks.

According to Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, at least 26 militants were killed in these operations.

He said the strikes followed a series of attacks, including an assault on a Federal Constabulary post in Musa Dara on June 9, 2026, a vehicle-borne suicide attack in North Waziristan on June 2, 2026, and an attack on a police station in Bannu on May 9, 2026.

Officials noted that Pakistan has seen a rise in terrorist incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan since 2021.

Authorities say counter-terror operations will continue as part of ongoing efforts to eliminate militant networks operating in the region.
