Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Announces 12-Member Provincial Cabinet

Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Amjad Hussain Advocate has announced the formation of the provincial cabinet, with an official notification issued confirming its composition. The cabinet will initially consist of 12 ministers, while the appointment of five advisers will be decided at a later stage. The allocation of portfolios will be finalized by the chief minister, and the cabinet members are expected to take the oath of office soon.

The cabinet includes eight members from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), including Muhammad Ali Akhtar from Nagar, Muhammad Naseem from Diamer, Syed Tauqeer Mehdi, Iqbal Hassan, Syed Jalal Shah, Raja Nasir Ali Khan, Zulfiqar Ali Murad, and Nek Nam Karim. Four ministers from the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP)—Haji Muhammad Dilpazir, Dr. Asad Shafiq, Aman Ali Amir, and Anwar Ali have also been inducted into the cabinet.
The formation of the coalition cabinet marks the beginning of the new provincial government’s administrative setup. Officials said ministerial portfolios would be announced after consultations by the chief minister, while the remaining advisers are expected to be appointed in the next phase to complete the government’s executive team.
