AJK Police Accuse Banned Action Committee of Armed Violence, Terror Activities

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Police spokesperson and Senior Superintendent of Police Riaz Mughal has accused a banned action committee of abandoning peaceful protest and resorting to armed violence against law enforcement personnel. Addressing a press conference, SSP Riaz Mughal alleged that armed groups affiliated with the organization attacked police officers, leaving more than 300 personnel injured and resulting in the martyrdom of security officials.

The police spokesperson claimed that members of the banned committee were equipped with modern weapons, including sniper rifles, and targeted security personnel during the unrest. He further alleged that the armed groups subjected civilians to violence, spread fear among the public, and engaged in activities aimed at undermining state authority. According to Mughal, their actions were carried out under the guise of peaceful protest while deliberately creating disorder.

SSP Riaz Mughal also accused the group of circulating fabricated videos as part of a propaganda campaign and claimed its armed factions were involved in anti-state activities. He described the attacks on security forces as acts equivalent to terrorism and said voters had exercised their democratic right peacefully during the Azad Kashmir elections despite the security challenges.
