ISLAMABAD: Security forces have killed two terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan during an intelligence-based operation in Washuk district of Balochistan, security sources said on Monday.

According to the sources, the operation was conducted in the Palantak area of Washuk as part of ongoing security operations against Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists operating in the province.

The two terrorists were involved in attacks on the Mashkel Police Station and Customs House, the sources said.

During the operation, security forces destroyed the terrorists’ vehicle and recovered weapons and ammunition from their possession.

Security sources said the recovered weapons and ammunition were intended to be used in target killings of unarmed Baloch people and other terrorist activities.

They said security forces successfully targeted the terrorists after receiving intelligence about their presence in the area.

The sources reiterated that operations against Fitna al-Hindustan would continue until the terrorist threat is completely eliminated from Balochistan.

Pakistan has witnessed a rise in terrorist activities, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, in recent years.

According to a report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), the two provinces remained the country’s main hotspots for violence during the second quarter of 2026, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recording the highest number of casualties.

The report said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan together accounted for nearly 96% of all violence-related fatalities recorded during the quarter.

Of the total deaths, more than 61%, or 475 fatalities, were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while Balochistan accounted for 34%, with 265 deaths.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also recorded the highest number of violent incidents, with 151 cases, representing 57% of the nationwide total. Balochistan followed with 94 incidents, accounting for 35%.

Security forces have reiterated their resolve to continue intelligence-based operations against Fitna al-Hindustan and other terrorist networks to protect civilians and maintain peace and stability in the province.
