Southern KP Citizens Support New Provinces for Fair Resource Distribution
Citizens of southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have also voiced support for the creation of new provinces for fair distribution of resources and equal development.
People from different sections of society across the country are openly discussing the creation of smaller provinces and administrative units.
Residents of Dera Ismail Khan and nearby areas have called for a separate province comprising the southern parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Citizens said the Saraiki-speaking population of southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa believes new provinces should be created as this would improve administrative matters.
They said people from Dera Ismail Khan have to travel to Multan, Peshawar and Islamabad for better healthcare and education facilities.
According to the citizens, a separate province for Dera Ismail Khan would bring more funds to the area, improve hospitals and help address security issues.
They said the demand is not about dividing the province on a Saraiki or Pashtun basis, but about making access to public institutions and services easier.
The citizens said new provinces should be created on administrative grounds rather than linguistic or ethnic divisions.
