Mustafa Kamal: Pakistan’s Healthcare System Improving, Shift Toward Preventive Care Underway

Federal Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal has said Pakistan’s healthcare system is improving with each passing day, emphasizing the government’s intention to shift from “sick care” toward preventive healthcare. He said the focus should be on preventing people from becoming patients rather than merely treating them after they fall ill.

Kamal said the government had corrected its vision and direction and was working to ensure better and more affordable healthcare services for the public. He expressed confidence that affordable and improved health facilities would become increasingly available in the coming days.

The federal minister also acknowledged Pakistan’s reliance on loans from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), saying the country has its own conditions and terms in its dealings with the lender. He stressed that Pakistan’s position in negotiations with the IMF was not a secret and remained part of the broader economic challenges facing the country.
