DG ISPR Exposes Alleged Indian False-Flag Operation in Occupied Kashmir

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, addressing an important press conference, said he would brief the media about what he described as another alleged false-flag operation staged by the Indian Army.
The DG ISPR said the alleged incident was linked to developments in occupied Kashmir. He stated that on the night of September 29, the Indian Army’s Corps posted a message on social media regarding the incident. Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the matter would be discussed in detail during the press conference, presenting Pakistan’s position on the alleged operation and the circumstances surrounding the Indian military’s reported statement.
The DG ISPR said the Indian side identified the alleged militant as Muhammad Asif, also known as Hashim Musa, and claimed that he was an SSG Havaldar. He said the Indian Corps later described the alleged deceased as a military personnel and attributed attacks in different areas to him. Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry presented Muhammad Asif before the media, challenging the Indian account.
Speaking to journalists, Muhammad Asif said he learned through social media that India had reported him as having been killed. He said that after the purported death report circulated, he began receiving telephone calls from people asking about his well-being. Asif stated that he had retired from the Special Service Group (SSG) in 2023, directly contradicting the claim that he was killed in the reported operation.
Pakistan’s Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has criticised India’s security approach, describing the country as increasingly reliant on what he termed an “encounter specialist” model for dealing with security challenges. He said Pakistan faces a neighbour that, in his view, treats terrorism and force-based operations as solutions to complex political and security disputes. Similar allegations concerning alleged fake encounters by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir have previously been reported by Pakistani officials and media, although such claims remain contested.
The DG ISPR further alleged that the Indian military has become increasingly politicised and accused it of promoting narratives aligned with the Hindutva ideology and the interests of political leadership. He said this political environment contributes to what Pakistan describes as misleading or fabricated claims surrounding security incidents. The remarks come amid continued tensions between Pakistan and India, with both sides presenting sharply different accounts of security developments and alleged militancy across the disputed region.
Pakistan’s Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said the military has no role in politics and stressed that governments are formed by politicians. He reiterated that he would not comment on political matters, saying the armed forces remain focused on their constitutional responsibilities and that political questions should be addressed by political actors and institutions.
