Pakistan’s tallest man passes away after protracted illness

Pakistan’s tallest person Zia Rashid has passed away after protracted illness.

Incidentally, Zia Rashid died on the 26th death anniversary of Mohammad Alam Channa, who was the world’s tallest living man from 1982 till his death in 1998.

Zia Rashid was 8 feet 3 inches tall and had been suffering from knee pain for a long time.

Born 37 years ago in Vehari, Zia Rashid had the distinction of being the tallest person in Pakistan at the age of 15.

After the age of 20, he suffered from knee pain. Last year, due to falling down the stairs, the pain increased and he passed away.

Rashid’s four siblings, Dr Saqib Rashid, Dr Majid Rashid, Aqib Rashid, Kashif Rashid, grew up with normal height. However, Zia experienced extraordinary growth starting at age 15 and reached a height of 7 feet 10 inches by the age of 18.

Because of his height, Rashid’s normal life was affected and medical problems emerged, his family said. The country’s tallest person suffered from knee pain after the age of 20.

Zia had a nasty fall from the staircase at his home sometimes ago, his family and friends said. As a result of lack of government support, Rashid could not manage a proper treatment for his injury and his condition deteriorated and he died.

According to locals, Zia Rashid lived a full life. They said Zia Rashid was a very good-mannered and simple person.
