The Pakistan Cricket Board and the Pakistan Super League franchises meet to discuss finalization of the tournament window next year.

According to a press release issued by the PCB, the board has offered to help franchise owners to sign marquee players for several years.

It has been decided that next year’s tournament will be the last time it would feature six teams. There are plans to add two teams in 2026.

The PCB believes that the HBL PSL and IPL staying together in the April/May windows will give the game, players and fans an opportunity to benefit and flourish.

The option of directly signing one player of each franchise between the PCB and the franchise owners was also discussed.

This will be in addition to the marquee player offer in which the PCB will support the franchise owners.

Moreover, the hurdle also mulled over the possibility of organizing matches in Peshawar and Quetta. Though, it will be subject to the environment of both cities being conducive and supportive.

Peshawar and Quetta want to return to the Pakistan cricket calendar by giving domestic matches in the 2024-25 season.
