“No new duty will be imposed on solar panels,” Sharif was quoted as saying in a statement released by his office after a meeting of the federal cabinet.

In a bid to address the country’s economic disparities, the PM also vowed to abolish the privileges of the elite and those exploiting the country’s resources.

In addition, the federal cabinet meeting approved the export of sugar in a limited quantity.

During the meeting, the cabinet was told that the PIA bidding will be held in the first week of August.
