He further vowed to use technology to bring transparency and credibility to the elections and strengthen democracy.

The PM pointed out that the former US President Donald Trump’s team did everything to dispute 2020 presidential election result, but no irregularity found due to the use of technology in the electoral process.

Imran Khan said we have been asking the opposition for a year now to cooperate with us in this regard.

He said the government had asked them to help reform the present electoral system.

Imran Khan noted technology and use of Electronic Voting Machines the only answer to reclaim credibility of elections.

He invited the Opposition to sit with the government and select from the available EVM models to restore the elections credibility.

NA-249 by election

While referring to NA 249 bye-election, he said despite a low turnout, all parties are crying foul and claiming rigging.

He said the same happened in Daska recently and in Senate elections.

In fact, apart from 1970 election, in every election claims of rigging have raised doubts over credibility of election results.

He said his party asked for examination of just four constituencies’ votes in the wake of 2013 general elections.

Moreover, Imran Khan recalled of having established rigging in all of them.

He further said it took us a year and a dharna of 126 days to get a Judicial Commission. Finally that found over forty faults in the conduct of elections.
