PMD issues fresh rains alert across Pakistan
A new monsoon spell has entered the country, due to which there is a possibility of heavy rains across the country from today [Saturday] till August 11, the Pakistan Metrological Department said.
According to the met office, cloudy weather will occur in Gilgit, Islamabad, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Jhelum, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Gujrat, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Kohistan, Swabi, Kohat, Karak, Peshawar and Kashmir.
Due to heavy rains, there is a possibility of flooding in rainy rivers and low-lying areas, while landslides in the mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to affect traffic movement.
On the other hand, clouds have camped in the coastal city of Karachi early in the morning, the Met office has forecasted light rain and drizzle in different areas of the city on Saturday.
Apart from this, rain and thundershowers have also been forecasted in different cities of Sindh including Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sanghar, Khairpur, Kashmore, Sukkur and Ghotki.
