Police raided Barrister Gohar residence on a tip-off for ‘wanted criminals’

Islamabad Police raided the residence of PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan while he was at the Supreme Court fighting PTI’s final battle for electoral symbol ‘bat’.

Barrister Gohar Ali Khan in the apex court proceeding was informed that security forces raided his home in Islamabad, roughed up his son and nephew and took away documents and equipment.

Gohar Ali Khan left the live SC hearing for reaching his home, but returned to apex court shortly.

The chief justice Isa told the attorney general for Pakistan that this should not have happened, if it did.

The Islamabad police posted on X, formerly Twitter, “On a tip-off, the police reached a house in search of the wanted criminals. Upon reaching there, the police found out that the house belonged to Barrister Gohar and the police returned.”

The PTI posted on X, formerly Twitter that PTI chairman Barrister Gohar’s house has been raided by unknown men, who came in 4 vans, assaulted his family members including his son and nephew, and took away his laptops and documents. Barrister Gohar mentions this in front of the Chief Justice in the court.
