President Zardari tenders resignation

President Asif Ali Zardari has resigned from the chairmanship of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians.

According to GTV, the president has informed the Election Commission of Pakistan about his resignation through a letter.
According to sources, Faryal Talpur, the sister of President Asif Ali Zardari, is likely to become the chairman of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians.

Asif Zardari’s resignation from the party presidency has come at a time when some quarters were criticizing him for heading a political party despite holding the office of president.

President Asif Ali Zardari has previously been the president of the country from 2008 to 2013. During his previous presidency, the 18th constitutional amendment was passed, under which most of the powers of the president were transferred to the prime minister and the parliament.

It should be noted that on March 9, the Candidate of the ruling coalition, Asif Ali Zardari, was elected as the President of the country for the second time with 411 votes.
