PTI nominates Omar Ayub as PM candidate

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan has nominated Omar Ayub for the post of prime minister against PML-N’s Shehbaz Sharif.

Asad Qaiser held a meeting with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi, during which the PTI founder entrusted him with the task of consulting with political parties.

He said that our mandate has been stolen in the elections. The PTI will start a protest movement across the country.

Qaiser said that the PTI founder would give a date for the protest by this evening.

Sources said that PTI founder told Asad Qaiser that all decisions will be taken in consultation with the political leadership. The PTI founder told Asad Qaiser that the political leadership should prepare for government formation.

Later speaking to the media, Asad Qaiser said that Omar Ayub will be our prime ministerial candidate. I have been given the task of talking to all political parties, he added.

The former speaker of the National Assembly said that he has been given the task of talking to all the political parties.

Meanwhile, the Azad Kashmir Election Commission has issued an arrest warrant for PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur, who was recently nominated as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister by PTI founder Imran Khan.

According to the election commission, there has been a case registered against Ali Amin Gandapur for violating the code of conduct during Azad Kashmir elections.

A letter of arrest of Ali Amin Gandapur has been issued to Deputy Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan, in which the nominated chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been directed to appear before the Election Commission of Azad Kashmir on February 28.

It should be remembered that the petition against Ali Amin Gandapur was filed by lawyer Raja Zulqarnain during the 2021 election.
