Punjab reduces transport fares

In view of the recent reduction in petrol prices, the Government of Punjab has reduced transport fares across the province.

The reduction was made on directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

A revised price list for private transport fares has been released for 37 cities across Punjab. The fare reductions range from Rs 40 to Rs 250, benefiting passengers across various routes.

To ensure the list is being followed, the authorities have conducted checks across the province.

A total of 30 vehicles were halted for overcharging passengers, and fines amounting to Rs 358,500 were imposed on violators.

These actions are part of the government’s efforts to provide immediate relief to the public and regulate transport services.

The Punjab government will continue monitoring compliance with the new fare structure, ensuring that all transport operators adhere to the revised rates.
