Rain knocks Pakistan out from ICC T20 World Cup

Pakistan’s T20 World Cup journey came to an abrupt end as they were knocked of from the tournament in the Group stage after match between USA and Ireland was washed out.

The only chance for Pakistan to stay alive in the tournament was Ireland to beat USA. However, after continues rain, the important game in Florida was washed out with both teams sharing one point each.

The result means that USA have five points, and will finish second at the table no matter what the outcome of Pakistan and Ireland tie on Sunday.

This marks a historic achievement for the USA in their debut World Cup appearance, securing a spot alongside India in the top two of group A.

Had USA lost to Ireland, it would have opened the door for Pakistan to potentially advance by defeating Ireland in their upcoming match.

The team will return home after their game against Ireland.

It is worth mentioning here that, in other big upsets, New Zealand and Sri Lanka have also been eliminated in the first round.
