As India registered a convincing victory over defending champion England, captain Rohit Sharma also achieved an individual milestone.

The Hit Man has surpassed Pakistan captain Babar Azam to become the leading runs getter in the T20Is.

He has scored 4,222 runs in 150 innings compared to Babar’s 4,145 runs in 116 innings.

Sharma achieved this feat during India’s triumph over England by 68 runs in the T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final.

Previously, Sharma surpassed Babar’s 48 wins, extending India’s second-longest winning streak in T20Is to 11 matches.

The skipper has led India to 49th T20I victory, which made his most successful captain in this format and setting a new world record.

The Men in Blue will now face South Africa, who reached the final for the first time in their history.

Both team are unbeaten in the tournament so far and will play the final at the iconic Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 29.
