Saudi Arabia ready to recognize Israel: Biden

28 February, 2024 10:57

US President Joe Biden has said that Saudi Arabia is ready to recognize Israel.

During an interview, Biden said that he is in contact with six Arab countries, including Qatar.

He said that the cease-fire in Gaza will give us an opportunity to move in the direction that many Arab countries are ready for.

The American president said that a two-state solution is necessary to maintain the existence of Israel. If Israel does not ensure the safety of the lives of Palestinians in Rafah, it will lose international support.

Meanwhile, the US has once again rejected the accusations levelled by the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a press briefing that all I can do is stand here and tell the truth.

He further said that the charges of the PTI founder, who is currently imprisoned, are unfounded and baseless.

Matthew Miller said that they want to see the right to freedom of expression and free press around the world, including Pakistan.

Responding to the Pakistan-Iran Gas Pipeline project, the spokesman said that talks are ongoing with the government of Pakistan on the said project. We cannot comment on the diplomatic talks with Pakistan, he added.

The spokesperson said that helping Pakistan deal with the energy crisis is one of the US priorities.

He further said that with the help of American development projects, more than 50 million homes are being supplied with electricity as the US and Pakistan are working on renewable energy.
