The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will clear the cheques of the business community on Friday.

In this regard, President of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mian Tariq Misbah-ur-Rehman requested the President.

He made this request during a meeting with President Arif Alvi in Islamabad.

Due to his request, the President contacted the Governor State Bank of Pakistan.

As per his directive, the latter assured to clear cheques of the business community on Friday.

Sources further said the step will help ensure disbursement of salaries to the private sector ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
