SC orders to make Karachi Circular Railway operational within 6 months.

The order came o Friday when a three-member bench of the Supreme Court  heard the KCR revival case.
SC bench comprised of Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah.
During hearing  at the Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry, Advocate General Sindh Salman Talibuddin presented KCR revival plan
 He said that important development has been made on the project.
Moreover, Secretary Railways also appeared before the court.
The secretary said that on the directions of the Supreme Court work for the revival of the KCR remains under way on daily basis.
But CJP remarked: “We know, you people won’t work to make KCR operational as you lack capacity.”
Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid had said they were implementing order of Supreme Court for KCR Project.
During a speech in Lahore on February 01, he announced restoration of track of Karachi Circular Railways within 15 days.
Furthermore, he also said that the Railways had informed Sindh Chief Secretary Sindh about thirty-eight Kilometers track.

KCR remains in doldrums

However, KCR project continues to remain in doldrums despite announcements regarding its revival.
Karachiites want KCR revival because it would ease their transportation problems.
The KCR provides local train facility to Karachiites.
The road traffic jams disturb them on daily basis.
The KCR route starts from Wazir Mansion, Lyari and pass through Baldia, Shah Abdul Latif, SITE, Manghopir (The priority Section).
Then it heads to HBL, Orangabad, Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, Yaseenabad, Gilani, Nipa, Alladin park, Johar.
From there it comes to Drigh Road, Karsaz, Shaheed-e-Millat, Chanesar, Naval at Korangi Road, Karachi cant, DOCs, Karachi City, Tower. Finally it returns Wazir Mansion.
However, government plans new construction for an extension from Drigh Road to Jinnah terminal via Drigh Colony, Star Gate and Jinnah Terminal.
But Karachiites await action instead of empty statements.
