Seeing love of the nation, I can’t sleep because of happiness, says Arshad Nadeem

Arshad Nadeem, the national hero who made Pakistan famous in the javelin throw competition of the Paris Olympics, said  that seeing the love of the nation, he can’t sleep because of happiness.

Arshad Nadeem, speaking on a local TV show, said that after the Tokyo Olympics, he had worked hard for the Paris Olympics.

He further said that his coach Salman Butt supported him a lot. He did not let me lose heart, the fielding was very good, I did a lot of training and the prayers of the whole nation behind me were so much that I had full hope of gold medal this time, the athlete said.

He added in 2022 he broke the record of 90 meters in the Commonwealth Games. “I always try to do better, in the first throw when the runner-up was a little bad, I fouled to avoid injury and then worked hard in the next throw and by the grace of Allah, the record throw was made,” Nadeem said.

He continued that when he scored 92 in the second throw, he was 90 per cent sure that the gold was him. But, the world champion was participating in this competition, so I continued to work hard till the end, he added.

Arshad Nadeem said that after the knee surgery, he got injured twice, but his coach and physio worked very hard. He thanked both of them for that as well as the whole nation for giving him so much love and affection.
