Senior Army officers filled key positions in NAB

The Establishment Division in a notification details the senior serving Army officers in the national accountability bureau.The inductions in the NAB are as :

1. Brig Mohammad Khalid (Infantry) Director (BS-20)
2. Lt Col Nadeem Muzaffar (Intelligence Staff College) Director (BS-19)
3. Maj Waleed Khalid (Military Intelligence) Deputy Director (BS-18)
4. Maj Qais Kamran Syed (MI) Deputy Director (BS-18)

The notification stated that these officers will remain in NAB till further orders. There are further inductions of Army officers is expected in the NAB in the days to come b/c of workload.The inductions were made days before NAB filled the key positions of deputy chairman and  prosecutor general.

Few days earlier the Ministry of Law and Justice issued a notification in which former judge Lahore High Court (LHC), Sohail Nasir has been appointed as Deputy Chairman while Syed Ihtesham Qadir Shah has been appointed Prosecutor General of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

In National accountability bureau, there are 1,800 cases were reopened after the Supreme Court struck down the amendments made by the previous PDM government to the NAB laws.

The NAB was facing difficulty in dealing with the added workload as more than 30 senior NAB officers were sent back to their parent departments by the PDM government after clipping the powers of the anti-graft watchdog.
