24 August, 2024 19:37

Pakistan’s ace fast bowler Shaheen Afridi celebrated the arrival of his newborn baby boy with a delightful cradle celebration after claiming his first wicket in the ongoing first Test match against Bangladesh here at Rawalpindi.

Afridi, who had gone wicketless until the 163rd over of Bangladesh’s first innings, dismissed tail-ender Hasan Mahmud.

The pacer bowled a length ball on middle-leg, which Mahmud attempted to smash over mid-wicket but edged into the hands of wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan.

As Afridi celebrated his wicket, he cradled his arms in a gentle rocking motion, paying tribute to his newborn son.

Pacer fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi and his wife Ansha Afridi have been blessed with their first child on Saturday afternoon.

They shared the delightful news in a social media post, with fans and fellow cricketers extended their heartfelt congratulations.

The couple named the boy, Ali Yar.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) joined hands with other cricketers to congratulate the pacer.

In July, reports surfaced that Shaheen and Ansha were expecting their first child.
