Speaker takes notice of illegal recruitment in NA

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq took notice of the complaints of employees against illegal recruitment and serious irregularities in the National Assembly.

The Speaker dismissed the special secretary while taking major action on employees’ complaints.

According to sources, the additional secretary was suspended and charge sheeted. He was promoted without any training and without fulfilling the rules. They added that the services of 17 officers promoted illegally have been switched to contract again. The grades of these officers was also lowered.

The sources further said that some of the officers who were recruited as managers were demoted and made deputy managers. The permanent employment of former speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf’s close relative was also changed to contract. Additional Secretary KPS Sami was also demoted.

Refusing to accept any pressure, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq also set up a complaint cell for affected employees in the promotion process.

The sources in the National Assembly have further informed that the affected employees have been ordered to register complaints in the cell.

It should be noted that many employees have been recruited in the National Assembly without documents and educational credentials, while many officers and employees were made permanent only after 6 months.
