‘Took decisions as per law, but attributed to a party’

Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Ibrahim Khan ha said that he took decisions according to the law but was attributed to a political party.

A full court reference was held in honour of Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Ibrahim Khan in which high court judges, advocate general, additional attorney general, bar council members and lawyers participated.

Addressing the ceremony, The PHC Chief Justice said that 15,000 decisions were given in a period of 31 years, in which only 509 decisions were challenged in the Supreme Court and off them 279 were upheld by the judiciary.

He said that he took decisions according to the law, but he was attributed to a political party. If a questioner thinks that the decision was not made according to the law, then I will be present on the Day of Judgment, he said.

The PHC top judge further said that the statements of APS families and other witnesses were also recorded in the inquiry.

It should be noted that Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court Justice Muhammad Ibrahim Khan will retire on April 14. Senior Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim has been nominated as Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court.
