Who is Kristin Kreuk? Allison Mack says Smallville co-star introduced her to NXIVM
Former Smallville star Allison Mack has opened up about her involvement in the NXIVM cult, revealing that her co-star Kristin Kreuk was the one who introduced her to the controversial organization. Mack shared her account two years after being released from prison, where she served time for her role in the infamous sex-trafficking and racketeering case linked to NXIVM’s founder, Keith Raniere.
Speaking on the CBC podcast Allison After NXIVM, hosted by Natalie Robehmed, the actress detailed how her friendship with Kreuk led her to the group. Mack explained, “We went to Syria and Turkey together, we went to Mongolia together, we went to Paris, and we had so much fun,” describing how both actresses shared a deep sense of dissatisfaction despite their success.
Mack recalled that Kreuk had taken NXIVM’s self-improvement courses and encouraged her to do the same. “It was like all she could talk about,” Mack said, adding that Kreuk spoke highly of Raniere and co-founder Nancy Salzman. Eventually, Kreuk invited her to attend a women-only course, saying, “They’re doing a weekend and I think you should do it. I think you’d really like it.”
Following the 2018 exposure of NXIVM’s criminal activities, Kreuk publicly denied any involvement in the cult’s illegal practices, clarifying that she had joined at age 23 believing it to be a “self-help/personal growth course.” She stated, “I left about five years ago and had minimal contact with those who were still involved,” adding that accusations of recruiting “sex slaves” were “blatantly false.”
Kreuk expressed support for the women who exposed NXIVM’s inner workings, saying she was “deeply disturbed and embarrassed” by her past association with the group.
