Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk is married to Yekaterina, also known as Kateryna, who has been a steadfast support throughout his career. The couple tied the knot in 2009 after being close for several years, though they have largely kept their personal life private.

Kateryna, popular in her native Ukraine, is also the founder of the Usyk Foundation, a charitable organization created to support Ukrainians during the illegal Russian invasion. The foundation provides humanitarian aid, supports the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and delivers essential supplies to displaced families.
In April 2022, Kateryna revealed her husband’s physical toll during the war, stating, “Sasha lost 10 kilograms in a week of the war. He was so horrified, in such shock, he was so torn apart.”
The couple shares four children: two sons, Kyrylo and Mykhalio, and two daughters, Yelizaveta and Maria. During the conflict, the family had to flee their home in Vorzel, Bucha, with many of their possessions destroyed, as Usyk prioritized their safety before returning to the front lines.
Reflecting on his sacrifices for his boxing career, Usyk said, “I missed Happy New Year, I missed my son’s birthday, I missed my other son’s birthday, I missed my daughter’s birthday and then the birth of my daughter. I also missed family holidays. I was only focused on this fight, now I’m happy and I want to go back home.”
Usyk is preparing to defend his titles in the upcoming rematch against Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on July 19, 2025. Speaking about the fight, he said, “I’m grateful to God for the opportunity to once again fight for the undisputed championship. Thank you, Daniel, for taking care of my IBF belt — now I want it back.”
