USD to PKR: Dollar rate in Pakistan on June 25

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee on Tuesday registered gain against the US dollar in the interbank market.

According to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the local unit closed at 278.50, a gain of Re0.12 against the greenback.

On Monday, the rupee had closed at 278.62 after a fall of Re0.11.

Meanwhile, the rupee edged higher against the dollar in the open market. The local currency was trading at 280.32 per dollar.

Gold declines

Gold prices declined yet again on Tuesday in local and international markets and is now retailing at Rs241,500 per tola.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), a decrease of Rs500 was witnessed on Tuesday.

The price of 10 grams of gold was Rs207,047, representing a decrease of Rs429 from the previous price, APGJSA said.

The international price of gold was $2,326 per ounce, which includes a premium of $20. This represents a decrease of $2 in the gold price compared to the previous day.

The silver rates remained similar at Rs2,850 per tola.
