Watch: CCTV footage of Karsaz accident emerges

A local court in Karachi on Tuesday sent a woman, suspected of killing two people in a road accident on Karsaz Road, on a one-day physical remand.

During the hearing, the suspect’s lawyer, Amir Mansoob said his client was a psychiatric patient and getting treatment for five years.

He told the court that Natasha possessed a driving license of the United Kingdom and not Pakistan.

Subsequently, the court then adjourning the hearing till tomorrow.

CCTV footage of the incident has emerged showing the Land Cruiser SUV hitting a motorcycle with two passengers.

Video shows the woman does not stop the vehicle after crashing into the motorcycle and runs away.

The incident

Two people were killed when a speeding car rams into people on Karachi’s Karsaz road.

As per the police, the incident occurred when a high-speed white Prado, driven by a woman, lost control and rammed into a motorcycle, car, and several pedestrians.

Following the accident, the rescue sources rushed to the scene where they confirmed that two individuals had died on the spot, while four others sustained serious injuries, were taken to a nearby hospital for medical services.

Meanwhile, a case was lodged against the female driver involved in the accident.

Police and Rangers had taken the woman driver, identified in the first information report (FIR) as Natasha, into custody.

The security personnel had later taken her to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for a medical check-up as she also received an injury to her head.
