We are leaving economy in better state than before: Kakar

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has said that the Cabinet has shown excellent performance in the short time of the government, adding we are leaving the country’s economy in a better condition than before.

Addressing the Cabinet meeting, the prime minister said that we are going to give an action plan for the elected government which will definitely prove useful for the people and national interest.

According to the announcement issued after the cabinet meeting, the prime minister said that we have to work together for the development and stability of Pakistan. The country’s interest was always given first priority in all the decisions and policy making of the caretaker government, he added.

It was said that in the meeting, the Cabinet expressed satisfaction over the steps taken by the caretaker government regarding restructuring of various institutions, promotion of foreign investment and providing facilities to businesses.

Appreciating the prudent leadership of the prime minister on behalf of the federal bureaucracy, the cabinet secretary said that important and difficult decisions were taken in the interest of the country in the major challenges facing the country.

Meanwhile, the maiden session of Punjab Assembly has been convened today.

The Punjab Assembly meeting will be held today at 10 am. The newly elected members will take oath in the Punjab Assembly meeting.

It should be remembered that Punjab Assembly is the first provincial assembly which has been convened after the general elections held on February 8 in the country.

In the Punjab Assembly, Pakistan Muslim League-N has the highest number of seats – 137 members – while independent candidates are in second place. Many independent candidates have also announced to join the Pakistan Muslim League-N.
