WhatsApp introduces new safety feature for group chats
In a bid to bolster user safety, WhatsApp has rollout of a new feature called “context cards” for group chats.
The new feature aims to provide users with essential information about the group they have been added to, enabling them to make informed decisions about their participation.
Starting immediately, when a user is added to a group chat by someone they don’t know, a context card will appear, displaying vital details such as the group’s creator, creation date, description, and whether the user was added by someone in their WhatsApp contact list.
This feature is designed to empower users to avoid engaging with suspicious or unwanted groups.
The context card will also include a button allowing users to swiftly exit the group chat and a link to WhatsApp’s safety tools, providing easy access to additional resources and support.
According to WhatsApp’s press release, the group chat context cards have begun rolling out globally and will be available to all users over the coming weeks.
Earlier, a report said that WhatsApp has added a new feature based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology that will generate unique profile photos.
This feature has also been introduced in the Android beta version of WhatsApp. MetaAI’s Imagine Assistant will be used for this feature.
All you have to do is tell the AI assistant what kind of profile photo you want by giving written instructions. After that, WhatsApp’s AI assistant will create a photo that is just for you.
