Renowned Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik has said that going to India means going to jail for him because the Indian government considers him a terrorist.

While giving an interview to a Pakistani YouTuber, Dr. Naik discussed his early life, education, Tabligh-e-Deen, the situation in India and other topics.

On the question of going back to India, he said that it is easy to go to India but it is difficult to get out.

He said that many accusations were made against him by the Indian government but not a single accusation could be proved.

Narendra Modi’s Message

Dr. Zakir Naik said that the Modi government has tampered with the Indian Constitution by ending the special status of Occupied Kashmir.

He said that Modi had approached him a few months before abrogating Kashmir’s special status and sought his support for the move.

The scholar further said that Modi’s representative met him in Malaysia and said he was sent directly by Modi and Amit Shah.

The representative told me he wants to clear the misunderstanding between you and the government, he said.

Dr. Naik said that Modi’s representative asked him to support the Indian government on the issue of Kashmir, but he categorically refused.

Why Dr. Zakir Naik did not come to Pakistan?

During the interview, Dr. Zakir Naik was asked why he did not come to Pakistan instead of Malaysia after migrating from India.

Answering the question, he said that it was easy for him to go to Pakistan as people knew him there.

He further said that if he wanted to go to Pakistan, he could have gone, but there is a principle of Shariat that small loss should be tolerated to avoid big loss.

The scholar said that his going to Pakistan could have jeopardized his preach work and the Indian government could have accused him of working with the ISI or his organization could have been closed under any other charge. Therefore, he himself avoided going to Pakistan.
